The tri-series final between New Zealand and Pakistan is set to be held any moment now. The game is planned for this Friday at the National Stadium in Karachi.

It is their second meeting in the current series. New Zealand was previously defeated with a 78-run lead. In the second match, New Zealand beat South Africa. Pakistan also defeated South Africa to qualify.

Pakistan successfully chased a good score in their last match. Rizwan and Salman Agha made a hundred, and then Pakistan won.

The two teams have a long ODI history. They’ve played each other in 117 games. So far, Pakistan has a marginal advantage over New Zealand’s head-to-head win-loss record, winning 61 out of 117 matches, while New Zealand has won 52 out of 117.

Only one match was a tie, and the remaining three did not have a result. In Pakistan’s home matches, the latter was the most dominant.

They’ve lost only seven times in their 29 visits to this stadium.  Conversely, New Zealand has had four modest wins and many losses at the National Stadium.

The host country seems to have an edge when playing in Pakistan, as they have managed to win only four matches in their last five versus New Zealand. They’ve been pretty successful in their previous five games—New Zealand lost to the home team three times.

Inzamam-ul-Haq scored the most among players in these ODIs.  He, in fact, collected 1283 runs from New Zealand. Kane Williamson holds the record for New Zealand. He has 1256 runs against Pakistan.

Waqar Younis is the bowler who stole the most wickets in the rivalry. He has 79 wickets against New Zealand. Morrison has taken 39 wickets for New Zealand, the most against Pakistan.

According to the long-term stats, Pakistan has been the better team, but in recent history, New Zealand has performed better. The Black Caps looked good in their first match.
