Salman Ali Agha reveals reason behind dropping Sufiyan Muqeem

On the eve of its T20I series against Bangladesh, Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha has explained why Sufiyan Muqeem was omitted. At a conference before the series began, Agha Salman believed that Shahnawaz had a bright future in shorter cricket. I prefer Sufiyan and plan to include him in the shorter formats squads for the Series.” Sufiyan is poised to be a significant player for Pakistan in white-ball matches, and I believe he will contribute to many future wins for the country. At the same time, he stated that the decision regarding Sufiyan Muqeem was based solely on the playing conditions observed throughout PSL 10.

“Because the spinners were not succeeding here [Lahore], a fast bowler is brought in to complement their team.” During the T20I series against New Zealand earlier this year, Sufiyan Muqeem showed what he can do, taking two wickets while giving away just six runs in two overs in the final game. Although Babar is missing, Pakistan has some speedy bowlers like Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Naseem Shah at the ready for the series at the Gaddafi Stadium. Pakistan and Bangladesh play in the T20I Series: The first T20I is set for 28 May at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. 30 May, the second match is being held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

1 June was the day for the 3rd T20I at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Every match in the Davis Cup will be played at night. Squads: Pakistan: Salman Ali Agha leads this side, with Shadab Khan as deputy and the team includes Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Haris (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan (wk) and Saim Ayub. Bangladesh: The team will be led by Litton Das and includes Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Zakir Ali, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan (as vice-captain), Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Shoriful Islam. Because both teams want to start the series well, each coming match is likely to be closely fought. Pakistan may have opted for fast bowlers because pitches in Lahore have favored them in recent games.
