In Jaipur, Delhi Capitals (DC) won their last game of the IPL 2025 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 24. With Sameer Rizvi smashing 58 off 25 balls, Delhi was able to claim victory after chasing 207. PBKS Lose Reach into the Playoff Zone. With the loss, PBKS’ chances of making the top two in the points table were seriously hurt.

Punjab currently sits third with 17 points from 13 games, but Gujarat Titans (18 from 14), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (17), and Mumbai Indians (16 from 14) are part of fierce competition. If PBKS wants to remain in the top two and qualify for the playoffs, they must win against the Mumbai Indians on May 26. The PBKS batters made a strong start in the match. Since they were placed to bat first, Punjab Kings made a challenging total of 206/8, with captain Shreyas Iyer scoring 53 off 34 balls and Marcus Stoinis smashing 44 off just 16 despite hitting three fours and four sixes.

The quick 32 from Josh Inglis in just 12 balls helped PBKS reach 65/2 during the powerplay. Prabhsimran Singh helped Delhi with a fast 28 runs from 18 balls up front, and the rest of the team couldn’t keep up, as the bowlers put pressure on them toward the end. With 3/33, Mustafizur Rahman led the way for DC, though Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam took two wickets each, but leaked plenty of runs. The Rizvi Studio also presents the production of Karun Power DC’s Chase. Within five minutes, the pair of KL Rahul (35 off 21) and Faf du Plessis took the teams to fifty. Though Du Plessis and Rahul were dismissed fast, Karun Nair and Sameer Rizvi stepped up, and Karun hit four fours in his short stay at the crease. The many boundaries Rizvi hit gave Pakistan a boost in the match.

He managed a half-century in only 22 deliveries, hitting a six off Arshdeep Singh that edged DC ahead in the penultimate over. When 34 remained to get, Rizvi and Tristan Stubbs won the match, finishing it with a big six in the last over. Key Takeaways: Sameer Rizvi hit 58 runs in 25 deliveries and was named Player of the Match. Shreyas Iyer made 53 runs in just 34 deliveries. Marcus Stoinis made 44 runs off 16 balls. Mustafizur Rahman finished with 3/33 in his 4-over spell. 72.0% or 144 out of 200 of the PBKS metric was achieved. Total: DC 210, 4 overs, won by six wickets.

What’s Next? Although Delhi Capitals have had a great season, Punjab Kings will need to WIN their last group stage match against Mumbai Indians on May 26.
