From that point on, something truly amazing unfolded. David Warner and James Vince took the second wicket and racked up 162 runs together to easily defeat the Zalmi bowlers. While batting for 42 deliveries, Vince hit 11 fours and a six, totaling his score to 72 runs before being dismissed by Ali Raza in the 15th over.
Warner kept going, scoring 86 from 50 deliveries and striking 11 fours and 2 sixes, before getting bowled out in the 17th over. Khushdil Shah and Mohammad Nabi batted brilliantly in the last overs to take the team to a high score. Due to Khushdil’s impressive 43 in a single over and Nabi’s 26 in 10, Karachi amassed a formidable score of 237/4. For Zalmi, Luke Wood’s 2/19 in four overs made him the leading bowler. Despite Babar’s heroics, Zalmi missed out on the victory. Zalmi lost Haris early with 9 runs when they built a quick stand of 30 runs. Ayub hit 47 from 31 balls and joined Babar Azam for a partnership 77.
Babar dominated the innings and held the team together while other players kept falling. Thanks to his score of 94 off just 49 balls and featuring 10 fours and 4 sixes, Zalmi remained competitive. However, a mistake in the 18th over eliminated the chances of a late recovery. Murid and Thema shared 27 runs off the bat in the last five overs, but Zalmi scored only 214/5 before the last over. Bowler Abbas Afridi led with 2/48 for Karachi, while Hasan Ali and Mir Hamza got one wicket each. Karachi Kings Advance As They Head to the Playoffs. Due to Babar Azam’s outstanding game, Peshawar Zalmi will have to depend on what other teams do to stay among the leaders. Led by David Warner and Andrew Vince, the Karachi Kings have proved they are serious contenders for the title as PSL 10 moves towards the business stage.
