The International Cricket Council (ICC) released prize money for the following Champions Trophy sporting event. The total funding is $6.9 million, an exceptional one-million-dollar increase of 53% since the tournament’s last edition.

The winning team will receive a whopping $2.24 million, and the runner-up will be rewarded handsomely with a $1.12 million sum. These high amounts signify the tournament’s ascendance in the importance list.

Every team receives $34,000 for all the group stage victories. The losing semifinalist will be allotted $560,000 as a consolation prize.  Even the last-placed teams get some cash rewards to flabbergast their fans.

Teams having positions 5th and 6th will benefit from a $350,000 incentive each.  The seventh-place winning team gets away with $140,000. Last, an assurance is made that each team takes something home due to their input efforts.

Additionally, all teams must participate, and each will receive a standard participation fee of $125,000. This will serve as additional motivation for all the nations participating.

The amount of effort the cricket board puts into making the Championship happen remains the ICC’s proof of dedication.

Pakistan is the country where the ICC is going to hold the Championship Cup for the period from February 19th to March 9th. The very first match of the event, which will take place at the National Stadium in Karachi, will be the opening one.

Pakistan versus New Zealand is the encounter that will open the tournament.
