Multan Sultans announce big charity move during PSL 10 for Palestine

One of the most heartwarming moments of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 so far has been the Multan Sultans’ decision to start a major charity campaign to help children in Palestine who have been victims of the war.

Mohammad Rizwan, the captain of the Multan Sultans team, first announced the news at the toss on Saturday. He disclosed that the team would share the profits from their sixes and wickets in the tournament with needy children in Palestine.

“I have some words to share from Multan Sultans. Whenever and wherever a player hits a six and four or a wicket is taken, we will carry out activities for the children in Palestine and Gaza,” Rizwan said.

The action is not only a sign but also delivered with a hefty sum of money. Ali Tareen, the franchise proprietor, later explained the Sultans’ plan a little more in a video. He announced that the franchise would donate PKR 100,000 (roughly $350 USD) for each six and wicket registered by their players throughout the season.

“Our players also came to us with the idea, so we have set this up so that if any of our batters hit a six, we will give 100,000 rupees to the Palestinian charities,” Tareen said.

“At the same time, for every wicket taken by our bowlers, the same contribution will be made, specifically to the organizations which look for the cause of children.”

The team as a whole, the solidarity and humanitarian spirit of the Multan Sultan’s team in particular, have been showcased here, as both batters and bowlers from the Multan Sultans have expressed their desire to contribute to the cause.

Multan Sultans Squad for PSL 10:

    • Platinum: Mohammad Rizwan, Usama Mir, Michael Bracewell
    • Diamond: David Willey, Iftikhar Ahmed, Usman Khan
    • Gold: Chris Jordan, Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Hasnain
    • Silver: Faisal Akram, Akif Javed, Gudakesh Motie, Josh Little, Tayyab Tahir
    • Emerging: Shahid Aziz, Ubaid Shah
    • Supplementary: Muhammad Amir Barki, Johnson Charles, Yasir Khan

This humanitarian undertaking has been widely lauded on social media and by cricket fans, deriving greater value from the Sultans’ PSL journey. Thus, when the Sultans push hard and achieve brilliant results on the field, they also create a long-term effect off the field—the basic point of the action.
