Rohit Sharma made headlines in the 2nd ODI against England at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.1  The fantastic ton he delivered helped in the run chase of 304, losing only four wickets.2  Scoring 119 off 90 balls, Sharma registered a series win with yet another game to go.3

This innings again gave us the best view of the “Hitman” as he hunted down a formidable English bowling line-up.  A total of 12 fours and seven sixes were the reason he turned the bowlers into second-rate.4  It was a ’90s show from Sharma’s insane batting.

Before this, in the tournament, Sharma had to withstand a lot of criticism, especially regarding his performance in the matches with England.  He gave an interview to BCCI, talking about his journey, playing, and approach to the game.5  This firing was ultimately Sharma’s way of exiting the stage in the face of his critics.
